TEXT MESSAGE POWER

“Hey, everybody. This is Scott Theaman talking to you about how to develop your business and market effectively. Today we’re going to talk about the power of text message marketing.

So when we launch a marketing campaign for our clinic, typically what we do is we market on Google or Facebook. We drive them to a qualifying funnel, and then we follow-up with them to reinforce that decision. So they go from social or search to a funnel to follow-up. Guess what? The follow-up hits their text message because text message has a 98% open rate versus email, which has about a 20% open rate.

What we do in that text message is we reinforce their decision, and we give them social proof and education. Because remember, life change comes from education, not from motivation. So really, once people learn about the power of TMS and ketamine and your treatments, it’s sort of a no brainer, right?

So in our text message marketing, we are going to say something like, “Hey there, Johnny, this is Dr. Scott from Super Clinic TMS. Thanks so much for requesting a free consultation about our TMS therapy for depression. When would be the best time to contact you?”

So we’ve asked an-open ended question. The reason we do that is because we want to gain a micro commitment. So when they say 11:00 AM or 1:00 PM or whenever, they essentially have given us a form of yes. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. So the more times we can make somebody say yes, the more effective this is going to be when they come in the office and it’s time to enroll them into care.

Then strategically, we send them a second text message about a minute or two later. It says, “Also, in the meantime, check out these videos on how TMS and/or ketamine treatment works.” Then we give them a link, and we give them a link back to your funnel. So why do we do this? When they go back to your funnel, it has all the videos, and it’s going to reinforce their decision, and it’s going to educate them.

Why do we text them twice? We could put all that in one message. But we text them twice so that they watch a video, social or Google, they qualify themselves through the funnel, and then in the text message, it’s buzz-buzz. It’s in their pocket. It’s in their hand. It’s buzz-buzz. So buzz-buzz is a better way to get your attention than just buzz. You get it?

So all this is done. It’s a strategic choreography, and that’s how you want to look at your marketing, and that’s how we specifically look at text message marketing, with a 98% open rate, with a open-ended question gaining a micro commitment, and with a call to action to drive them back to your funnel. When we drive them back to your funnel, it’s going to pixel them, and it’s going to continue to remarket to them.
